Sumona Mondal is a Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Co-director of the MS Data Science Program at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, USA. Her research interests lie in the application and development of statistical methods for environmental, biological, and public health inquiries. She values interdisciplinary collaborations as they provide opportunities to contribute and learn in a cooperative environment. Particularly, she finds excitement in situations where scientists are utilizing methods that could greatly benefit from statistical development, and she works with them to enhance those methods. Mondal has repeatedly applied her statistical, mathematical, and computational knowledge, skills, and experience to model and estimate, predict, and simulate in various problem domains. Inferential statistics and data analysis represent her two main areas of interest.
